A Revolutionary New Design
A new breakthrough in the renewable energy field, this revolutionary new turbine design copies the law of nature found in wind and water behavior such as in hurricanes, tornadoes, dirt devils, or just water going down the drain. All fluid matter seems to follow the same spiral pattern, even galaxies in outer space.
After trying many designs and shapes in pursuit of the perfect turbine, Omar N Abass put together a design taking the efficient features of previous turbines and put them all together following fluids most efficient path; the logarithmic spiral, so-called golden spiral, or equiangular spiral which is found in living beings and almost everywhere around us. It is so obvious and simple yet beautiful. Not only it generates clean energy but it is quite and visually pleasing.
The real beauty of this turbine lies in its efficiency;
- Because of its aerodynamic profile, the golden spiral turbine is self orienting when tethered or attached to a horizontal pivot point.
- The shape of the blades and the smaller radius minimize drag while still collecting the kinetic energy efficiently.
- It is relatively safe for fish.
- Because of its small radius it can be constructed from cheap recycled plastic, PVC, or similar.
- It is a design that works for both wind and water.
- It is very simple comparing to the turbines out there in terms of cost, manufacturing, number of part, and maintenance.

The uses of this turbine are endless, below are some few examples:
Fixed to a tower: (using self orientation mean)
A horizontal pivot ring-like part may be used to mount the turbine and generator along any height of a poll or on top of a tower such as a street light, or a sailboat mast to collect wind energy. The generator and electrical parts may be placed on a deck mounted on top of the pivot part. The axle of the generator passes besides the poll and connect to the turbine located on the opposite side. Placing the generator and components on one side and the turbine on the other side create balance in a manner to apply equal gravitational force on each side of the pivot ring. The pivot ring has bearings inside it allowing it to easily pivot horizontally around another smaller ring that is fixed to the poll. The purpose for the pivot ring is allowing the turbine to self orient horizontally in the fluid current direction.
Attaching a flexible cable through the hall in the front part of the cylinder. The turbine may be placed in a current, or pulled behind a boat while the generator is placed on a fixed surface.

Number of blades, height and angle may be adapted to different uses.
